EFL Cup Semi-final: Man City v Bristol City - Anytime Goalscorer Tip

It may suit Bristol City to be considered no-hopers at the Etihad. Despite their poor week or so they've had a great season and almost always score goals, particularly their 13-goal striker.

Bristol City have enjoyed a wonderful season to date but they’ve just had comfortably their worst 8 days of the campaign, losing three times.

It all went wrong with 30 minutes to go when they were a goal and a man up in the top of the table clash with Wolves on 30 December. Then they had a man sent off too, conceded quickly, before losing the game in the 94th minute. The hammering from Aston Villa on New Year’s Day was a direct consequence of that blow, along with serious fatigue.

Boss Lee Johnson consequently made 7 changes for the trip to Watford in the FA Cup and with one eye on this one. That match can be largely ignored because the Robins’ key men have now had a vital 8 days’ rest.

It’s hard to see the Championship side stopping the Man City juggernaut but they have quality as illustrated by knocking out 4 Premier League sides to reach the semi-final.

One man who did have a reasonable Christmas was Bobby Reid who found the net in that Wolves game and on December 23rd at QPR. In total the 24-year-old has 13 goals for the season and is worth a punt at best odds of 5/1 in the anytime goalscorer market with Bet365.
