Aguero Return Should Ensure City Silverware
The hottest striker in the Premier League, based on goals per minute, is back and raring to go at Wembley.
Last year’s FA Cup final demonstrated that upsets can occur even on the biggest occasions. However, Wigan’s miraculous defeat of what was then Roberto Mancini’s team will probably ensure that Manchester City will do a more professional job this time round.
The Citizens have been seeing a noticeable decline in the number of goals in their fixtures over the past month. The Blues have only found the net three times in their last five outings across all competitions. The good news for Manuel Pellegrini is that his defence has only yielded the same number of goals in that time.
Sunderland games have generally got tighter since Gus Poyet took the reigns but the Black Cats continue to lack enough options in the final third of the pitch. Recent league defeats at home to Hull (0-2) and at Arsenal (4-1) will have also dented their confidence heading into this one.
The return of Sergio Aguero could seal the deal for the favourites here and I expect to see a hard fought but ultimately comfortable victory for the big spenders. City are 6/1 to win 2-0 with PaddyPower and that looks like a decent option given that we potentially get our money back if David Silva scores anytime.
