The Blues may look back to their old selves but they face a side defending well at their level, and with a lack of attacking options.
Chelsea looked back on form at Selhurst Park last Sunday so I’m not going to predict an almighty upset at Stamford Bridge against League One opponents but the visitors could escape with pride intact.
Betfair offer best odds of 11/5 on under 2.5 goals in the match and it’s conceivable that the Blues may have to settle for a 1-0 or 2-0 victory which would pay us out.
Scunthorpe may sit 15th in the third tier but their defence has found some resilience since the start of December. The Iron have only conceded four times in their last seven outings across all competitions.
Six of their last seven games have seen under 2.5 goals so the trend is in our favour even if this will be a considerable step up.
The Premier League big boys only have one fit striker to call upon and if they take this 3rd round tie at all lightly then we could easily pick up a tip win here.
