O'Neill's Ireland Drilled To Compete Away

Despite the talent at Denmark's disposal, the boys in green have great away results against Germany, Austria and Wales to draw upon in the not so distant past.

The Republic of Ireland know how to grind out results on the road and we’re backing the draw with under 2.5 goals in the match at a best price of 27/10 with Ladbrokes.

Martin O’Neill’s boys actually picked up more points away in qualifying and made the play-offs courtesy of crucial 1-0 victories in Austria and then ultimately in Wales.

It would be a big ask to replicate anything quite that good against an accomplished looking Denmark who finished Group E with a seven match unbeaten run, including a notable 4-0 thumping of eventual table-toppers Poland.

But O’Neill is a master of getting the best out of a slightly limited squad. In reaching Euro 2016 the Irish won at home to Germany and drew away to the world champions.

Those memories along with what happened in Cardiff just last month can propel them towards second leg hope.
