Never Say Nether

The Dutch are in total disarray and their fate could be sealed on Saturday.

The Netherlands stand on the brink of missing out on Euro 2016 without even making it to the play-offs. That would have looked like a laughable thought when Group A was announced.

Oranje have contrived to lose on their travels to the Czech Republic (2-1), Iceland (2-0) and last month Turkey (3-0) as the wheels have come off for one of the perennial favourites.

On Saturday it could be game over if Danny Blind’s side make it four away defeats in five, and at a huge best price of 14/1 (Skybet) that isn’t out of the question.

Kazakhstan have been competitive throughout despite their lack of points on the board. Last month they drew 0-0 with group leaders Iceland and they’ve scored three times in two outings against the Czech Republic.

The minnows also led until the 62nd minute when these two sides met in Amsterdam, even if the hosts ran out 3-1 winners eventually. With their defence now improving and the Netherlands in disarray, a huge upset at an eye-catching price can’t be ruled out.
