Hungary And Fading Fast

Norway got better as the qualifiers progressed while their visitors went the other way.

The Euro 2016 playoffs kick off on Thursday and we should back Norway to win to nil in their home leg at best odds of 9/5 with Boylesports.

The Scandinavians acquitted themselves well in a tricky group which included Italy and Croatia. They ended on 19 points and nearly qualified automatically having led Italy in Rome with 17 minutes to go during their final outing.

But it was at home where Norway really looked the part. They beat Croatia 2-0 as part of an unbeaten final run of four on their own patch (W3 D1) in which they kept three clean sheets.

In contrast, Hungary ran out of steam in a weaker looking section topped by Northern Ireland and Romania. They ended with a 4-3 loss to bottom side Greece to make it one win in their final four fixtures.

That only triumph was a slender 2-1 result at home to the Faroe Islands so there’s little reason to think they can get a result in Oslo.
