Greece Proving Slippery Again

Greece have reached the last 2 World Cups via the playoffs and overcame Croatia in Euro 2012 qualifying.

Greece are undervalued in the betting for their World Cup playoff first leg in Croatia. They are far more likely to claim a draw in Zagreb than best odds of 15/4 with Bet365 implies.

After a disastrous 2016 campaign, the 2004 European champions finished a very respectable 2nd behind Belgium in Group H, only losing one of their 10 competitive matches.

This included a 0-0 draw in Bosnia which ultimately proved decisive and a 1-1 result in Brussels, the only points their hosts dropped in the campaign.

Croatia may have the individual talent but they only scored more than one goal in 3 of their 10 outings in Group I. Finland grabbed a draw in Zagreb which allowed Iceland to claim top spot and the Croats also failed to win at home to Turkey and only snuck past minnows Kosovo 1-0 on their own patch.

Expect it to be all to play for as they head to Athens for the return leg.
