Fulham v Reading Tip

The Royals have scored a grand total of 1 goal in their last 4 games and have lost 9 of their last 11.

Although it’s generally dangerous to bet on matches with seemingly so little at stake, I’m pretty sure Fulham will be determined to arrest their mini-slump at home to the weakest team in the division.

The Cottagers have slid down to 11th in the table after consecutive defeats to Chelsea, Arsenal and Everton, three teams in the top-six, but opposition who have already been relegated should prove more obliging. I would be amazed if Martin Jol hasn’t made a top-half finish a big target, and a win here could lift Fulham back above West Ham or Swansea.

Not surprisingly, the bookies aren’t going to allow punters to make an easy killing just by backing Reading to lose. The Royals have been on a desperate 3-month run without a victory, and with precious few draws (D2 L9).

This is why the Fulham victory is nothing longer than 3/4 (BetVictor), but we can add value by taking a punt on the ‘home win to nil’ at best odds of 9/4 with Coral.

Nigel Adkins has only claimed two points since he took charge, both courtesy of 0-0 draws at the Madejski Stadium. Basically, Reading just can’t score. The Berkshire club have found the net only once in their last four outings.
