West Ham v Man City Preview

Started in both EFL Cup games and scored against Swansea. Good chance he starts in the FA Cup.

Pep Guardiola displayed his disdain for British journalists at the weekend and you wonder what he’s got up his sleeve for the oldest cup competition in the world. Besmirching one of British football’s ‘great traditions’ might send the internet into meltdown but Pep wasn’t afraid to devalue the EFL Cup with his team selection and the same could happen against West Ham.

Aleix Garcia has been on the fringes this season but started both EFL Cup games, scoring against Swansea.

The young Spaniard has been on the bench for City’s last four Premier League games and is therefore a likely starter on Friday night.

The 19-year-old midfielder isn’t prolific but his chances of playing 90 minutes are high and he is overpriced at 18/1 (William Hill) to open the scoring against West Ham.

1pt Aleix Garcia to score first 18/1 with William Hill
