Toffees Talisman Is Back At The Right Time
Scored on his return from injury last week and poised to start at the Emirates.
Behind closed doors Arsene Wenger must be starting to think he is cursed. First Aaron Ramsey, then Theo Walcott, and now Luke Wilshire will be missing for at least six weeks at a crucial stage of the season. Consecutive away defeats to Liverpool and Stoke mean that the 64-year-old will be appreciative of home comforts in the FA Cup.
But Everton are not the ideal visitors. Roberto Martinez won the trophy last year with Wigan so he won’t be regarding his chances as forlorn with the Toffees. The Spaniard will be particularly encouraged by the timely return to fitness and form of Romelu Lukaku.
The Belgian striker announced his comeback by climbing off the bench to score the winner against West Ham last weekend. I would assume that Martinez will be keen to start his talisman at the Emirates knowing that he has another full week to recover after that.
The Chelsea loanee will be refreshed and confident and therefore rates as excellent value in the first goalscorer market at best odds of 7/1 with Boylesports.
