Ramsey Streets Ahead

He scored a goal of the month contender last weekend and fired against Hull in the away game before that.

Given Hull’s dreadful record against Arsenal in recent times, and the absence of key strikers for Steve Bruce, it’s hard to look beyond the Gunners in the first goalscorer betting.

There are still several candidates to choose from with top scorer Olivier Giroud obviously near the top of that list. However, at the shortest odds (4/1 Coral) I would be slightly concerned that the Frenchman hasn’t found the net away from the Emirates since January.

Lukas Podolski is another tempter (5/1 PaddyPower) after his two goals at the KC Stadium last month, but another man who scored that afternoon for Arsenal just about gets the nod here.

Aaron Ramsey has had a superb season which was sadly hampered by injury, but now he is back and looking razor sharp. The Welsh star has grabbed two in his last three to make it 15 goals in just 34 appearances for the Londoners in 2013-14.

The 23-year-old can be snapped up at 7/1(BetVictor) to break the deadlock but I would advise taking the 6/1 available with Betfred instead because they will double or triple that price if he goes on to score two or three.

*Back any player to score the first goal with Betfred and if he goes on to grab a second, they’ll double your first scorer price - and if he bags a hat-trick they’ll treble it.
