15th Feb 2015 | FA Cup

Nothing Rotten About This Boro

The visitors have won six in a row and dumped out Manchester City on their own patch. The odds don't reflect any of this.

It’s seems pretty likely that there will be at least one or two FA Cup shocks on Sunday and we should spread our risk accordingly. Having already backed Bradford, Middlesbrough are also too big to ignore at 7/1 (Bet365) to pull off a mighty upset at the Emirates.

The Championship leaders heading into the weekend, the visitors have won their last six games in all competitions and crucially they defend well enough to give themselves a chance against anyone. They have conceded eight goals fewer than the next best in their division.

Just as importantly, Aitor Karanka’s side will arrive at Arsenal without an inferiority complex. Not only did they win 2-0 at the Etihad in Round 4, but they also drew 2-2 at Anfield in the League Cup before exiting 14-13 on penalties.

The Gunners have generally looked very good of late, but like Sunderland, they’ve had an unconvincing week. A north London derby defeat to Spurs was followed by an edgy 2-1 home win over Leicester which even Wenger admitted was fortuitous.

If their luck runs out and they don’t raise their level, Boro can capitalise here.
