Aston Villa may have ended the ill-fated reign of Paul Lambert, but the arrival of Tim Sherwood seems unlikely to transfer fortunes overnight. For one thing, the transfer window slammed shut a fortnight ago so the same players will trudge out onto the pitch.
The thing which finally did for Lambert was when the defence started crumbling after a season of not being able to score. Villa conceded nine goals in their last three outings and Leonardo Ulloa will be licking his lips here.
The former Brighton man has a penchant for this competition having found the net in each of his last five FA Cup outings. That run includes crucial strikes against Newcastle and Spurs last month and the 28-year-old also scored at Villa Park in December’s league match.
At a best price of 13/2 (Boylesports), Ulloa rates as a slice of value in the last goalscorer market. Even if he is benched, he is very capable of making a major contribution when the game opens up.
