FA Cup Treble

The 3 sides we're backing this evening are all 2 divisions superior to their opponents and all now on good enough form to finish the job in replays.

Skybet are offering an enhanced price of 5/1 on Leicester, West Ham and Cardiff all winning their FA Cup replays after 90 minutes on Tuesday. That would otherwise be a 7/2 shot wherever you shopped and it’s well worth a punt.

Leicester v Fleetwood:

We’ve already backed the Foxes as good value to perhaps go all the way in this competition so not surprisingly we expect them to win at home to Fleetwood! There would be no good reason for Claude Puel not to take this competition seriously with his side 8th in the table and very unlikely to finish higher than 7th. They were unlucky to only draw 0-0 at Chelsea at the weekend and they can take out that frustration on League 1 opponents.

West Ham v Shrewsbury:

The Hammers were incredibly fortunate to even muster a second chance against the Shrews but that 0-0 escape will surely have woken them up to the dangers here. Since that draw Moyes has seen his side move further clear of the relegation scrap with a thumping 4-1 win at Huddersfield. The Scot won’t admit it publicly but with upcoming league games against Bournemouth, Palace, Brighton and Watford, he’ll expect to be feeling ‘safe’ by mid-February. So why not go for it in the FA Cup?

Mansfield v Cardiff:

The first game between these two was yet another 0-0 but two things have changed to make us fancy the Championship side more strongly now. Most importantly, they are back on form.  Warnock’s boys trounced Sunderland 4-0 on Saturday with all the goals coming in the second half. Secondly, the winners of this one will face Man City at home and now the veteran Cardiff boss is talking about fielding the strongest side he can. Ironically, the League 2 side may have already missed their best chance in front of a meagre 6,000 fans in Wales.
