FA Cup Final Tip

The FA Cup does still occasionally produce fairytales, but for Watford to triumph today would require something close to Wimbledon and Wigan levels of shock. That’s because Manchester City are something very special in 2019. If it wasn’t for a borderline VAR decision, they could still be hunting an historic quadruple, as it is they will likely settle for a domestic treble.

It’s in this context that they line up as 2/9 favourites to win in 90 minutes at Wembley - and that’s justified. The bookies also think it’s most likely they’ll shut their opponents out, but there’s value in backing City to win with both teams to score at boosted odds of 9/4 with BetFair.

The Hornets found the net in 74% of their league outings, including both losses to the champions, and that record improves to 78% when cup matches are also factored in.

I can’t predict a dramatic surprise, but perhaps Watford can get on the scoresheet and make it interesting at the very least.
