Exhausted Spurs On Their Way Out?

Tottenham are still in the Europa League, the League Cup and the FA Cup. But are the squad really equipped to handle the work load?

The bookies have decided that Spurs did the hard work by drawing at Turf Moor with the assumption that they will ease past Burnley at White Hart Lane, However, the visitors are crying out to be backed to progress at best odds of 7/2 (Paddy Power), whether it be in normal time, extra time or after penalties.

The case for the upset is actually surprisingly easy to make. Tottenham are knackered. They have played more official matches in 2014-15 than any other team and they clearly ran out of steam at Selhurst Park on Saturday.

Mauricio Pochettino is poised to rest star players such as Harry Kane and Hugo Lloris here, and Burnley could take full advantage. Sean Dyche doesn’t really believe in squad rotation so we should expect to see most of the players who have compiled a four match unbeaten run in all competitions.

Sam Vokes can expect another start after he scored in the first meeting with Spurs and he may resume the strike partnership with Danny Ings which proved so deadly in the Championship last term.
