Genk Bilbao To Athletic

Athletic Bilbao cannot afford to relax after an opening round defeat to Sassuolo and I expect the Spanish side to leave Belgium with all three points.

Their loss to Sassuolo was something of a freak, especially the scoreline, with the Italians scoring three goals despite only having four shots. Despite that result and it has been a positive start to the season.

Athletic Bilbao have won five of their last six games in all competitions and are conceding on average 3.5 shots per game in the Europa League, a competition low. Going forward Aritz Aduriz shows no sign of slowing down with five goals in ten appearances, hot on the heels of his 36-goal season.

For their part Genk are winning as many games as they are losing in the Jupiler League but a good La Liga team should have too much class, even away from home. An Athletic Bilbao win at evens (Paddy Power) is the play.
