Fenerbahce v Man Utd Tip – United to win
United thrashed Fenerbahce 4-1 in last round of fixtures and did everything bar score against Burnley. Eventually their luck will change because the underlying numbers are fine.
It’s difficult to feel sorry for Manchester United and especially their manager, even though he must suffer the torture of living in a 5* hotel, the draw against Burnley was cruel.
United were victims of a harsh red card and managed 38 shots without scoring. It’s not every week they will bump into an inspired goalkeeper and perhaps that adjustment will come in Turkey this week.
As in the Premier League, United’s underlying numbers are strong. They concede on average 7.3 shots per game in the Europa League (second best) and are taking 14.7 shots per game (seventh best).
At some stage their luck will turn and that could come against a Fenerbahce team they hammered 4-1 in the last round of fixtures. A win in Turkey virtually guarantees progress to the next round and at 5/4 (Paddy Power) they can relieve the pressure on Mourinho.
