Ukraine To Dominate Northern Ireland In Corners Market
Ukraine earned 12 corners against Germany. Northern Ireland had 1 versus Poland and struggled to get out of their half.
We’re taking a rare foray into the corners markets this afternoon with Ukraine likely to dominate poor Northern Ireland.
Michael O’Neill’s boys struggled more than any other finalist to impose themselves in their opening group outing against Poland. They mustered two unconvincing shots, neither on target, and one corner.
In contrast, the Ukraine did at least enjoy plenty of good attacking moments against Germany. They won 12 corners, twice as many as the world champions and it cannot be a coincidence that their best players are wide men Yarmolenko and Konoplyanka.
Whether the Irish manage to be more attacking or not, Ukraine will surely be well on top and backing them to win the corner race even with a -6 handicap looks like a shrewd niche play at 11/4 with Paddy Power.
