Euro 2016 Tips: Highest Scoring Team - Poland
Poland were the highest scorers in qualifying and have a new goalscoring star, Milik, to play alongside Lewandowski.
The bookies have lined up all the usual suspects at the top of the ‘highest scoring team’ market but the leading scorers in qualifying, Poland, are worth a look at 50/1.
Adam Nawalka’s boys found the net 33 times in 10 matches en route to France, nine more than Germany mustered in the same section. Yes drubbings of Gibraltar and Georgia played a part, but a group featuring the world champions, the Republic of Ireland and a resurgent Scotland was among the toughest out there.
Poland can legitimately claim to have the best out and out striker at Euro 2016 in Robert Lewandowski. The Bayern Munich star struck a record equalling 13 times in qualifying but the captain was not the only source of goals. Ajax youngster Arkadiusz Milik also fired in six times while Jakub Blaszczykowski has 16 international goals from midfield.
This summer the Poles face Germany again, a side they beat 2-0 in Warsaw, but they could really make hay against Northern Ireland and the Ukraine. With a run to the quarter finals (at least) looking imminently possible, this team could play enough matches to trouble the favourites in this particular market.
