Watford v Chelsea Tips: Don’t Go Overboard With Chelsea

Guus Hiddink has brought an improvement in performances and results but don't get carried away against an obdurate Watford.

Chelsea are much improved under Guus Hiddink, they are yet to lose a match for their interim coach but there has been an overreaction by the bookmakers.

Chelsea have only played three away game in the league under Hiddink and although better they’ve not been brilliant. They played out a dour draw at Old Trafford and were flattered by a 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace.

A 1-0 win at the Emirates was an impressive result but the game was shaped by Per Mertesacker’s early red card.

Watford will be no pushovers at Vicarage Road. They got back on track with a win at Newcastle in the last round of fixtures and were perhaps unfortunate to lose against Man City when they were still leading with 10 minutes to go.

Watford average 1.4 points per home game this season, whilst Chelsea average 1.1 points per away game. Even accounting for the improvement under new management, the value lies with the home team at 15/4 (Bet365).
