Crystal Palace Can Relax

Arsenal v Crystal Palace Tips: Crystal Palace Can Relax

Palace broke their winless streak but their underlying shot numbers are still better than their league position indicates.

Crystal Palace finally broke their winless streak against Norwich and virtually guaranteed their presence in the Premier League next season.

For a team that started the season so strongly it was an unexpected run of form, especially because their underlying shot numbers were and are still solid. Call it variance or a lack of confidence, it doesn’t really matter – it’s over.

Crystal Palace languish 16th in the league but they are better than the position. They are 13th on goal difference and 10th on Paul Riley’s expected goal difference model. This is important because the market underrates their chances against Arsenal.

Alan Pardew’s men are better on their travels (20pts from 15 games) compared to their record at Selhurst Park (17pts from 17 games) and a team made up of pacey wingers is ideal for the counter attack.

Arsenel keep slipping up when you least expect them, which is why their title challenge has faltered. There could be more of the same at the Emirates on Sunday with Crystal Palace a terrific bet at 5/2(BetVictor) in the double chance market.
