Chilling Champions Could Slip Up

Chelsea players will surely be on the beach after winning the title last weekend. The Reds are capable of capitalising.

If ever there was a time to back against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, this is surely it. The champions will be in party mode after mathematically securing the title last weekend and surely they will drop a level at some point.

Mourinho’s men have been operating with such remarkable defensive concentration that it’s hard to believe they won’t switch off a bit now that the job is done. Down the other end, they have only scored more than one once in their last five outings anyway.

They won’t even be saying goodbye to the fans for another fortnight when Sunderland come to town so that’s another motivation gone.

Meanwhile Liverpool are clinging to the faint hope that three wins and 70 points might yet snatch Champions League football away from Man Utd. What a finale that would be to Steven Gerrard’s Anfield career and he won’t be easing off on Sunday that’s for sure.
