You have to question how much Jose Mourinho really is committed to progressing in the League Cup given that his side have three other trophies they would prefer to vie for in the new year.
At the very least, given that Chelsea will inevitably field a much weakened side, Chris Martin looks well priced at 3/1 (Betfred) to add to his 14 goals in 2014-15 based on all competitions. The former Norwich man struck 25 times last season so his credentials as a marksman can’t really be doubted.
The 26-year-old found the net twice on his last appearance at Pride Park 10 days ago and he also enjoys good statistics in this competition having grabbed five goals in his last six outings. All things considered, he represents the value in this quarter-final.
