Charlie Challenges Chelsea

Much like Graziano Pelle, Charlie Austin is not only on good goalscoring form, but he is also in the top six players in the Premier League when it comes to shots per game (3.4).

This is important because it tells us whether a hot streak is sustainable. In the case of QPR’s key striker, the stats suggest he will continue to find the net pretty regularly even at this high level. At best odds of 11/2 (Coral), the 25-year-old is hard to ignore in the anytime goalscorer market, even if it is against Chelsea.

Austin scored both goals as the Hoops saw off Villa on Monday night and he can carry that confidence onto the Stamford Bridge pitch.

The Blues may be leading the league but they have only kept three clean sheets in 12 domestic fixtures so far this season, so there is genuine hope for Austin here.
