As predicted, Villa are comically far away from being the promotion favourites they were touted as pre-season. But the bookies continue to offer value in opposing them.
Arguably bet of the day comes at Oakwell where Barnsley are an astonishing best price of 13/5 to beat beleaguered Aston Villa with BetFair.
Make no mistake, this is a price entirely born out of how unfashionable the hosts are compared to their historically illustrious visitors.
Putting aside all that nonsense, the Tykes should be clear favourites. They have won their last three in front of their owns in all competitions including a thumping 3-0 success against Sunderland. Another recent Premier League side continuing to implode.
Just as importantly, Villa are boring and infuriating their fans in equal measure after consecutive 0-0 home draws. Steve Bruce is under fire after just one league victory all season sees his side languishing in 18th.
