1st Dec 2018 | Championship

Saturday Football Acca

We've picked 2 from the Premier League and 2 from the Championship who can outrun their odds and extend decent recent runs.

Last week we landed our Saturday acca at a shade under 18/1 and we’re looking for two in a row with this best price 14.63/1 shot with Betfred.

We’re backing in-form Newcastle, Huddersfield, Norwich and Forest all to win at home.

Newcastle to beat West Ham @8/5:

Two evenly matched sides meet at St James’ Park but a combination of momentum and home advantage can carry Newcastle to a 4th straight victory. Benitez and the Magpies have a great record against these opponents and while that doesn’t matter much, it adds to their building confidence. The same can’t be said of the Hammers who were spanked 4-0 at home by City last time out; even against the champions that’s poor.

Huddersfield to beat Brighton @6/4:

It’s a similar story here where the unfancied hosts have come to life by taking 7 points from a possible 9. The 2-0 victory last time out at Wolves was particularly eye-catching for Wagner’s boys. Town average more shots per game (10.9)  than Brighton (8.2) and down the other end the Terriers rank a surprising 10th for shots conceded, compared to 19th for the Seagulls, who are still hard to trust on the road.

Forest to beat Ipswich @ 4/6:

The hosts were involved in a spectacular 5-5 draw at Villa Park in midweek so no prizes for guessing what areas Aitor Karanka will have focussed on since! Forest have only lost 2 of 19 league games all season and are currently 6 unbeaten in the Championship. They draw too many games but a match against comfortably the worst side in the division should yield 3 points even if Paul Lambert’s made them more competitive of late.

Norwich to beat Rotherham @4/9:

We’ve chosen this one to complete our set because 4/9 on table-toppers at home to a side in 19th spot is actually quite reasonable when compared to the 1/8 on Man City beating top-8 Bournemouth. The Canaries haven’t been this chirpy in years after taking 19 points from a possible 21 with the 0-0 draw at Hull in midweek surely just a momentary blip. The Millers are draw specialists but they’ll do well to contain a side who have been scoring for fun.
