Saturday Acca

Paul Lambert faced terrible headlines after derby day defeat but his Ipswich side have quietly turned it around since then. They won't stay up but they could contribute to a second big price acca win on consecutive Saturdays.

It’s a huge day in the Championship with two automatic promotion contenders meeting in the early kick-off. But rather than picking a winner there, we’re aiming for 3 home winners in the 3pm kick-offs in an effort to land back-to-back acca winners. Today’s best price on Villa, Preston and Ipswich is 15.93/1 with BetVictor.

Villa @6/5 to win at home to Middlesbrough:

Two closely matched sides over the season as a whole but we’re backing the form and momentum here. Villa have beaten three play-off rivals on the bounce to storm back into top-6 contention while Boro have lost back-to-back at home to risk slipping out of those precious places. Grealish and co can close to within a point of their visitors.

Preston @ 11/10 to win at home to Birmingham:

It’s a similar tale at Deepdale where Preston are enjoying on of their best runs in many years, now unbeaten in 11 Championship matches (W7 D4). Going back to the start of October, only the top three have accrued more points than Alex Neil’s boys. Today they face Birmingham City who appear to have blown their own play-off hopes after 3 straight defeats.

Ipswich @ 11/4 to win at home to Forest:

I’ll lose a few punters with this selection but hear me out! Ipswich may know they are doomed but they are playing with a spirit which belies that. 5 draws in their last 6 games shows how competitive they have become and the last 2 points claimed on the road at West Brom and Bristol City are highly credible. Now they just want to give their home fans something to cheer and Forest are vulnerable after 2 damaging defeats in their last 3 outings.
