17th Mar 2018 | Championship

Saturday Acca

It's a vital day in the Premier League and Championship and we're backing success for Stoke, Boro and Hull, but more problems for Birmingham City.

We’ve got to the stage of the season when some sides don’t have much to play for and can lose motivation and this informs 2 of our 3 bets in today’s treble - a 17.64/1 shot with Bet365.

Middlesbrough to win at Brentford (2/1):

On paper it’s 11th at home to 6th but those 8 points are the difference between having realistic play-off hopes or not. Boro are right in the mix after 3 straight wins as the Tony Pulis impact seems to have arrived in the nick of time. Brentford’s promotion bid has all but died off the back of consecutive losses and it may prove difficult for them to shift the momentum again here.

Hull to win at Birmingham City (7/5):

This one is a bit different because Birmingham City are desperate for points but the problem is they are on a shocking run - 8 defeats in a row across all competitions. So far Gary Monk hasn’t been able to turn the corner and it won’t get easier on Saturday against Hull who have just enjoyed a wonderful double over the East Anglian sides. Norwich were dispatched 4-3 before a 3-0 away win at Ipswich on Tuesday night.

Stoke to win at home to Everton (8/5):

Back in the Premier League Stoke have the home game you’d probably choose at the moment. Everton aren’t really in any danger themselves but they’ve lost 5 in a row on the road and only WBA rank worse away overall. The Potters have improved under Lambert and the 2-0 loss to Man City certainly shouldn’t change that feeling. It’s crucial they take the spoils here to move up from 19th with Arsenal and Spurs up next.
