Eastenders Ending At North End

The final day of the Championship season is packed with drama and tension with automatic promotion, play-off and relegation matters all to be settled.

Two of those worlds collide at Deepdale where 7th placed Preston host 22nd placed Burton Albion. I’m backing the lowly visitors to potentially pull off the greatest of escapes.

A best price of 11/2 with WilliamHill on Burton is a steal given they have won three on the bounce to give themselves a chance. It was all but over when they trailed 1-0 at Sunderland with 4 minutes remaining but Darren Bent helped inspire a remarkable 2-1 victory to condemn the Mackems instead.

Preston are in good form themselves to set-up a late bid for glory but they only have hope if Derby lose at home to Barnsley. That’s highly unlikely which means North End players could become disheartened as they hear news from elsewhere.

In contrast Burton are almost certain to survive with a win, but very likely to go down with any other result. Their purpose is clear and at a big price momentum could create scenes of Albion jubilation.
