Championship Treble

If you fancy an adventurous treble in this afternoon’s Championship encounters, a case can be made for Cardiff, Reading and Bristol City winning at 36/1 with Bet365.

Mick McCarthy has enjoyed a dazzling start to managing Cardiff City, and is yet to be beaten (W7 D4). That run looks even better when you consider two of those draws were his first games in charge. The Bluebirds are hunting down a playoff spot while Watford have automatic promotion in their sights. Both teams are on great form but the hosts are considered outsiders.

Nottm Forest v Reading (2/1):

These are the sort of odds you rarely see in the Premier League where both league position and form seem to count for little! Reading are 5th, and have won three on the bounce, yet somehow find themselves underdogs to a team in 17th, who have lost two in a row, in an era when home advantage is essentially not a thing. It’s a puzzler.

Birmingham v Bristol City (29/10):

Regular readers will know I’ve had my fingers burned a few times by Bristol City but this is another trip to the well, given their price. I won’t pretend the Robins’ form has been good in 2021 but Nigel Pearson may yet shine and besides, why does anyone have great faith in Birmingham City? 21st in the table, with the worst home record, and yet hot favourites here.
