Championship Title Tip 2015-16: Burnley

The Clarets have given themselves the best chance possible of bouncing back to the Premier League having kept their boss and many of the players who got them there.

It’s an increasingly rare sight to see a side recently relegated from the Premier League look in fine shape to make an immediate return, but that appears to be the case with Burnley.

Most importantly, Sean Dyche remains at the helm and that continuity and expertise in getting promotion can’t be underestimated.

The Clarets held their own in the top flight and crucially they have kept many of the players who accrued 93 points in the Championship just 15 months ago. That would have been enough to take the title last season.

England goalkeeper Tom Heaton has signed a new contract to keep him at Turf Moor and he fronts a defence which should excel again at this level. George Boyd remains a key figure in the middle of the park while Sam Vokes is capable of filling the void left by Danny Ings; he scored 20 goals in this league in 2013-14.

When you look around the Championship, it hard to see a better bet for promotion. Derby are favourites (6/1 Bet365) despite finishing the last campaign horrifically. Boro (15/2 StanJames) have lost the Championship Player of the Year Patrick Bamford, as well as Jelle Vossen - to Burnley.

It’s the Lancashire club who look like the value bet at best odds of 14/1 with WilliamHill. I recommend going each-way with a top three finish paid out at quarter odds; a highly likely outcome for Dyche’s boys.
