Championship Double

Boro are just 8th favourites for the title despite a long unbeaten run and a manager who has been there and done it all before.

Middlesbrough have somehow managed to slip under the radar in the Championship race but that could all change after Saturday’s big match at Brentford.

The relatively low profile of the Teesiders is all the more surprising given that Neil Warnock is the man in charge. The perennial promotion expert has steered Boro through 9 matches unbeaten since an undeserved opening day defeat at Watford. They are yet to conceded more than a goal in any league match, and look like contenders.

We’re backing them, plus Barnsley, at best combined odds of 11.99/1 with Bet365 on Saturday. The Tykes are much less reliable of course, but any team who plays Derby these days is unlucky to be an underdog. The Rams have only tasted victory once all season, with Dutch superstar Cocu surely on thin ice.

Barnsley did win back to back victories prior to a bad day at Cardiff so on balance, they should really be favourites here.
