Championship Double

The league table can be very deceptive at this point. Boro are a lot better than 1pt suggests while Blackburn are the early highest scorers in the Championship.

We have a Championship away double for Saturday now that the pilot scheme for returning fans has been put on ice. Back Blackburn and Middlesbrough to win at best odds of 6.02/1 with WilliamHill.

Blackburn (8/5) to win at Derby:

Rovers sprung into life with a 5-0 demolition job on Wycombe last weekend. After an opening day 3-2 loss at Bournemouth, goals don’t look like a problem for the Lancashire club with Adam Armstrong smashing in 4 for himself already. The Rams, in contrast, have opened with defeats to Luton and Reading, not to mention Preston at home in the Cup.

Middlesbrough (17/10) to win at QPR:

Neil Warnock returned to work on Friday following his positive Covid test, and although he won’t travel to the match, expect him to give Boro a lift. The Teesiders know they are doing plenty right already having outplayed Watford in an unlucky 1-0 opening defeat before drawing 1-1 with Bournemouth. They finally get to face a side who weren’t in the Premier League a few weeks ago here. QPR had a good first day but crashed back to earth at Coventry last time out - and might struggle more generally.
