Championship Acca

We're backing 3 teams who are all on decent unbeaten runs which have given them every chance of achieving promotion in Brentford's case and survival for Derby and Coventry.

As we continue with 3pm on Saturday meaning not much is happening in the Premier League, we’re taking on another treble in the Championship. Back Brentford, Derby and Coventry at 11.75/1 with Betfred.

Brentford v Reading:

Momentum is a powerful force in this division and Brentford certainly have that after 12 matches unbeaten. The league table shows that their opponents are actually one point higher, but Reading have lost twice as many (6) as they have won since late October. A 10pt gap between these sides then, should see the Bees ahead by 2 come close of play here.

Rotherham v Derby:

We urged caution against backing the Derby revival too early, and rightly so, but they have surely turned the corner now after six matches unbeaten. The Rams’ terrible start means they are still in the relegation zone, but this is their chance to escape with their opponents currently ahead on goal difference. Rotherham are generally heading south after 1 win in their last 8.

Sheffield Wednesday v Coventry:

I didn’t expect to be backing against Tony Pulis in a fixture like this when he took over at Hillsborough on November 13th - but it’s been a miserable first month in charge (W0 D3 L5). The Owls are still favourites to win here, despite Coventry being 8 matches unbeaten as they adapt to life at this level. The Sky Blues have enjoyed 2 promotions in 3 seasons and now stability beckons.
