Championship Acca

The Championship has been an absolute cracker this season with as many as 18 teams still hoping for promotion or fearing relegation at this late stage. We've picked 3 to help their respective causes on Saturday.

In the Championship, we’re backing two promotion-hunters facing sides in the bottom seven, and backing against the worst team in the division, all at combined best odds of 9.57/1 with BetFred. We’re looking to Leeds, Bristol City and Bolton to deliver the goods.

Leeds @21/20 to win at Birmingham:

There were jubilant scenes at Elland Road last weekend as 2 goals in the final 20 minutes put Leeds back into the automatic promotion positions as Sheffield Utd did the opposite and collapsed late on. The mood couldn’t be more contrasting at St Andrews where Birmingham were deducted 9pts in March and haven’t picked a single one up in 5 matches. They were 3pts off the play-offs before that, yet are now in trouble!

Bristol City @10/11 to win at home to Wigan:

Surprising to get anything close to evens money here with Bristol City at home, on form and with plenty of incentive. They sit 5th with a game-in-hand on many around them after a storming run from late November. They had just 1 more point than Wigan at that point - there is now a 21pt difference. The Latics have only won once on the road, and that was in August.

Bolton Wanderers @ 17/10 to win at home to Ipswich:

Wanderers have huge problems on and off the pitch but at least they have more chance of playing Championship football next season than their visitors. Ipswich are gone, 13pts from safety after just 3 wins in 39 matches this season. Phil Parkinson’s side have a lifeline after winning at QPR last time out and this must be the right fixture to move within striking distance of survival.
