Zenit Come In From The Cold
Zenit had a sensational group stages campaign, taking 15 points from the first 15 available. This striker led the way with 6 goals in the 6 matches.
Zenit St Petersburg were on the cusp of becoming only the 6th club to win all six of its group matches in the Champions League last autumn so perhaps we should question their underdog status away to Benfica on Tuesday night.
In truth this owes much to the Russian winter break which means Zenit haven’t played competitively since the final group game, a defeat to Gent.
But even allowing for that, star striker Artem Dzyuba looks a great best price at 7/2 (Paddy Power) to score anytime in Portugal.
The 27-year-old found the net six times in Zenit’s final five Group H matches. Including notable contributions for his country, the Russian international has netted 19 times in his last 21 competitive outings.
