Wembley On A Knife Edge
Juventus have won their 3 games since the first leg 1-0 and that will be the target here. They won't come out and attack just because Spurs hold a perceived advantage courtesy of two away goals.
One of the tastiest looking Champions League second legs takes place at Wembley where Tottenham defend a position of strength having secured a 2-2 draw in Turin.
That clash was surprisingly open and I cannot see Juve boss Allegri taking the same approach in London. Back under 1.5 goals in tonight’s match at best odds of 5/2 with Skybet.
It’s true the Italians need to win on the night, realistically they aren’t going through with a high scoring draw, but don’t expect anything like a reckless approach. Allegri will aim to keep things tight then nick it when Spurs get nervous in the second half.
It remains to be seen if those tactics prove successful but we could also win this bet with Spurs winning 1-0. The Londoners have enjoyed 4 Premier League home clean sheets in a row, including against Man Utd and Arsenal, and are capable of defending when required.
Pochettino is unlikely to encourage that approach unless they are ahead and have a cushion. At that point, it would be sensible and a sign of a maturing side at this level.
