Tense Night At Old Trafford In Prospect
On form United should progress but they were dominated in the first leg and lucky to escape with a 0-0. But it remains a dangerous scoreline for all involved.
The bookies are expecting action at Old Trafford with 3+ goals in the match odds-on with every firm but I’d back under 2.5 goals at best odds of 6/5 with BetFair.
The first leg ended 0-0 which means that Sevilla could really set the cat amongst the pigeons with an away goal here. But while it stays goalless neither side will feel desperate and we’ll be heading for extra-time which could ensure a slow start to proceedings.
If United lead 1-0 you’d expect a Mourinho side to go cautious and if they hit 2-0 then they really will shut up shop.
Similarly, if Sevilla score first, or indeed find themselves at 1-1 then they’d be crazy to keep committing many men forward while they are heading through.
There aren’t many situations, if any, where both sides will be attacking with real intent so a low scoring evening looks on the cards, particularly when you consider the Portuguese influence on proceedings.
