Spurs Can Steady Ship

Two teams in pretty poor form meet in Germany this evening. But the Londoners did the job in the first leg and just need to be professional here.

The noises coming from Pochettino are a little concerning ahead of this Champions League second leg. Complaining about your opponents getting an extra 24 hours’ rest seems futile when this is only down to Dortmund playing on Friday night, something that wasn’t really an option for Spurs after a midweek Premier League match.

The Argentine is surely just frustrated after a bad week but the Bundesliga leaders, just, are in poor touch themselves after just one win in seven matches across all competitions. Tottenham can secure safe passage to the quarter-finals with a second leg draw at best odds of 14/5 with Bet365.

The mission is to avoid giving the Germans too much hope. That shouldn’t be too tough given that no side has ever gone out of the Champions League knockout stages having won 3-0 in the first leg. If Poch’s boys keep it tight then this tie can fizzle out to the visitors’ satisfaction.
