Shift in Barca Goal Dependency

The Catalonians are slowly becoming less reliant on Lionel Messi despite his 51 goals this season!

As they did back in 2009, Barcelona now have an attacking triumvirate which is the envy of world football. Back then it was Eto’o and Henry operating alongside Messi, now it’s Neymar and Suarez.

Messi is inevitably odds-on with most firms to score at the Nou Camp on Wednesday night but based on the last three months, Luis Suarez may be the better value bet at 6/4 (Bet365) in the anytime market.

The former Liverpool star has actually outscored the Argentine since 24 February with 17 goals in just 16 appearances. Messi has found the net 14 times in the same number of games, but he hasn’t fired in the last four Champions League outings.

In contrast, the Uruguayan was integral to successes against Man City and PSG, scoring a brace in both respective first legs.
