26th Dec 2014 | Premier League

Boxing Day Acca

We're expecting a lack of festive cheer for the struggling trio of Leicester, Hull and Palace.

If anyone’s feeling a little short of cash after an over-generous Christmas, here’s a potential way to turn £10 into £100. We’re backing Spurs, Southampton and Sunderland to all win at a shade under 9/1* with Bet365.

Southampton (23/20) to win at Palace:

The Saints were always playing better than the bare results during their slump and they well and truly arrested the slide with a 3-0 victory over Everton last time out. Now they also have Wanyama, Schneiderlin and Tadic back so they will have too much strength for a Palace side with 1 in 11 and an acute goalscoring problem.

Tottenham (5/4) to win at Leicester:

The Foxes have a shocking record now going back three months (W0 D2 L10); not so much bad form as just a generally struggling team. Spurs are in their best moment of the season and they’ve looked handy on the road throughout 2014-15 (W4 D2 L2) with only Man City and Chelsea faring better. Harry Kane is capable of being a match-winner again.

Sunderland (21/20) to win at home to Hull:

I was mightily impressed by the Black Cats’ performance at St James’s Park in a game they could have wrapped up long before Adam Johnson’s last gasp winner. Poyet’s defence is looking sound now with 4 clean sheets in 6 while Hull are winless in 10. That run surely won’t end with Huddlestone, Livermore, Dawson and Diame all out.

*Precise odds are currently 8.92/1.
