Bess Of Hardwick Potentially Useful
Ran a fast time, despite steady early gallop, when second behind Gretchen on debut.
Backing odds-on shots isn’t normally my strategy but it will take a very good horse to beat Bess Of Hardwick in the 7.15 Wolverhampton.
She returns to the track after a 140-absence but if nothing is amiss she should run well.
On debut she finished 2 lengths behind Gretchen (subsequent Group 2 winner), running a fast time for the grade, despite a steady early pace.
Her closing sectional was only 0.15s slower than that of Gretchen and she looks a smart filly.
Luca Cumani’s horses usually improve with racing and she should win at 5/6 (Bet365).
