Arsenal Top Goalscorer Tip: Theo Walcott

The England man is nearly ready to return to action and won't have many goals to catch up on the only other fit, credible attackers at the club.

With Olivier Giroud out for a few months with a broken leg, it will be interesting to see who emerges as Arsenal’s top league goalscorer in 2014-15.

The bookies have immediately assumed that Alexis Sanchez will take the plaudits but at 11/8 he represents a big risk. The Chile international has so far only found the net once in the top flight and a prolific haul may be a big ask in his first season in England.

Aaron Ramsey is worth deliberation but his price is prohibitive for a midfielder when all said and done.

Furthermore, new signing Danny Welbeck (9/2) has never scored more than 9 league goals in a season.  Instead, it may be better to consider the soon to return Theo Walcott as an 13/2 option with Bet365.

The England winger is due back in September and he demonstrated his improvement in the final third in 2012-13 when bagging 21 goals across all competitions. Last season the 25-year-old’s campaign was hindered by injury but he has plenty of time to put that right in 2014-15.

Arsene Wenger is increasingly utilising the former Southampton man as a striker and as such he will surely represent a great value bet here.
