Arsenal & Southampton To Both Win By More Than 1

Skybet are offering a wonderful price boost which we should gobble up while we still can.

Skybet are currently offering an enhanced price of 6/1 on Arsenal and Southampton both winning on Sunday by more than one goal and it’s a deal worth taking.

Arsenal v Villa:

In many ways the obvious bet would be to back the Gunners to win to nil (6/5 Ladbrokes) given Villa’s shocking attacking record. Paul Lambert’s under-achievers haven’t scored for 8 hours and 42 minutes, have only mustered 4 away goals in 2014-15 and have failed to find the net in 13 of their 22 matches.

But when things get this bad you have to assume that the manager will try anything to stop the rot. As odd as this may sound, this could mean Villa suddenly get too adventurous at the Emirates which might see them ending up on the end of a hammering.

Arsenal are certainly playing well enough to beat a poor side comfortably. Wenger’s boys have tasted defeat just once in 28 attempts on home turf in the league, a run which dates back to Villa winning there on the opening day of last season.

It surely can’t happen again. The Gunners have won four on the bounce and look full of goals with Giroud and Cazorla just two of the men in fine touch who can compensate for the likely absence of Alexis Sanchez.

Southampton v Swansea:

This is another game which should strongly favour the hosts, particularly because of the timing. The Swans are going through their stickiest patch perhaps since they returned to the top flight in 2011. They have just sold their best player, Wilfried Bony, they were knocked out of the FA Cup by a Championship side and before that they lost a home league game 5-0.

Gary Monk has his work cut out at St Mary’s Stadium given that the Welsh club had a pretty poor away record this season even when things were going well. It now stands at W2 D3 L5 which means that only the promoted sides have taken fewer points on their travels.

Southampton are going superbly in the Premier League again and look every inch a top four side. They have taken 13 points from a possible 15 which sounds good even before you consider that they’ve had a pretty brutal run of fixtures; Everton, Chelsea, Arsenal, Man Utd then Newcastle. All big teams who would have started the season expecting to finish above Koeman’s side.

The Dutchman can also welcome back Sadio Mane for this clash who was hitting the goal trail hard before he left for international duty. Maya Yoshida is also back while the visitors will miss the influential Gylfi Sigurdsson. It all adds up to a home win with something to spare.
