After being totally outplayed at Lord’s the tourists need to bounce back quickly otherwise the Test series could be over after a week. India need their star names to start performing and they don’t come any bigger than Sachin Tendulkar.
His poor performance at the home of cricket can be forgiven as he was suffering from a viral infection. Even if he wasn’t feeling unwell, Lord’s is a ground where his batting has always been sickly.
A return to Trent Bridge should bring back happier memories. His first innings scores at the ground are 177-34-91 and he averages 78.16 from six innings. One of cricket’s greatest talents, the ‘little master’ does not stay quiet for long.
At 4/1 to be India’s top scorer in the first innings, the bookmakers have overreacted to one poor match.
