Cricket World Cup Betting: Top Bowler

In 2010 he was the leading Sri Lanken ODI wicket taker but he isn't who you expect.

With wickets at a premium the top bowler result could be very tight with only a handful of wickets separating the contenders. Such a tight event brings in the long price outsiders and that is where I have focussed my attention. A good starting point are the top wicket takers per match in 2010.

Top Bowler

The two Englishmen are big injury worries. Although declared fit for the tournament you have to question how much practise and bowling rhythm they have got and for that reason are avoided. The two South African bowlers are omitted because they aren’t as good as Dale Steyn. And the rest I couldn’t put you off, they will be there abouts come the end of the tournament.

If I asked you who was the leading Sri Lankan ODI wicket taker in 2010 you’d probably say Muttiah Muralitharan or Lasith Malinga. It was actually Thisara Perera. More noted as a big hitting lower order batsman he is actually a good seam bowler who shares the new ball with Malinga. He is well used to prising batsman out on the flat sub-continent pitches and is overpriced at 100/1 with bodog.
